I saw the author on Dr Oz...

and Dr Oz was fascinated by his diagnoses of patients in some blind tests. In one instance, Dr Ali said the patient had had a certain problem and Dr Oz corrected him because he'd read the patient's medical records...patient interrupted and said: No, he's right. I had that years ago. Dr Oz did a double-take and explained to his audience that he and Dr Ali were trained in different schools but he was keeping an open mind.
Dr Ali treats some of the most important people in Europe including the Enlish Royal Family. I finished watching the program & wanted to know more so I purchased this book.
It's a specialized read, but like Dr Oz... I'm keeping an open mind & have certainly gained more respect for my brain; circulation and different things that can benefit my brain.
The book is very straight forward and written in an easy to understand manner. Neuroscience is at the forefront of so much of current science...I found this a way to come at the brain via a different approach.
I also purchased Deepak Chopra & Rudy Tanzi's SUPERBRAIN. Also written well for a general audience and upbeat.
Both books leave you with things you can do to have a healthier brain..and with greater understanding of our brains.
